Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field) is Pittsburgh’s world-class football and major concert venue located on the North Shore of the Ohio River. The stadium was constructed under the Regional Destination Financing Plan to ensure Pittsburgh’s NFL and NCAA collegiate athletic presence remains anchored in the urban core.
SEA & Stadium Authority Ownership Role
The stadium property and structural assets are publicly owned by the Sports & Exhibition Authority and the Stadium Authority of the City of Pittsburgh. Under long-term master lease agreements:
- Capital Reserve Fund: Managed jointly by SEA to fund ongoing structural maintenance, safety upgrades, and technological modernizations.
- Operator Responsibilities: The Pittsburgh Steelers (via Pgh Stadium Option LLC) operate the venue, manage event bookings, ticket sales, and gameday operations.
SEA Public Ownership & Stewardship
Owned jointly by the Sports & Exhibition Authority and Stadium Authority. Leased long-term to Pgh Stadium Option LLC (Pittsburgh Steelers), with SEA retaining ownership of public infrastructure and capital repair obligations.
